we are nature lovers!

Sunday is not a day of rest for us. We do sleep in, go to church, and then usually do something outside together!
NOTE: the grover family are big time mountain men/ world class hunters! Since we met ryan has grown pretty dang close with my grover family and has learned to love hiking and camping with the boys.
During the spring and summer months before actual hunting season opens you can pretty much count on the grover boys to be hiking and combing every nook and cranny of the mountains looking for last years sheads (animal horns). Why you may ask? Its fun, you get to be outside in the mountains with your best friends and find horns which is actually fun! Our friends still think it is bizarre that we have stacks and stacks of antlers in our apartment. This has become something of interest for ryan and he often comes home from work and says" can we please go for a hike?" or "can i go with your cousins to the mountains?"
Now back to the story.... We decided that on sunday afternoons we would go hiking together! :) This last sunday we went for a lovely hike, it was beautiful weather outside in a beautiful location! and we got lucky and found what we were looking for!!

Ryan found a 7 by 6 match. Its not rare to find a match but it is pretty difficult! He now has 2 matches (thanks to our cousin eli giving ry the match to the first horn he ever found :) ) I found a ten point antler!!! I was so excited because for my whole life i've always just been the little girl with all the boys so i usually just found really small horns that nobody else wanted!! But this one is huge and as far as i know the biggest one that anyone in my family has found this year!! YAY!

(my hair is looking pretty sad these days, it was braided but somehow came undone, and is also BLACK EWWW)
We love our sunday hikes! :)

a weekend full of sports!

Ryan and I both agree that our families are the most important things in our lives. Both of us have the most awesome families EVER! And we both love sports. We love watching, cheering, playing and teaching sports! So naturally we would love to watch our families play and participate in sports!!!
I was way into track, it was pretty much my favorite sport/my life, so its really fun for me to get to watch and help my sisters in track!!

This is my little sister ashley, she is one of the funniest people you will ever meet and she is quite the runner.
Confession: i never expected her to be fast but im really proud of her for trying each race to see what one she is the best in! She is also only a freshman so she will be so speedy the next couple of years :)

This is my beasty sister Alaina. She is a thrower!! The crazy thing about this is that she is about 5'8'' and 120 lbs! The usual weight of a thrower is double that!! She is the reigning district champion and is looking to be the district champion this year as well. :) I'm very proud of her and love to watch her improve each week!! Even though I can still beat her in a wrestling match!!!

Ryan is a big lover of baseball, and from what i hear was a big bad stud in high school, and even played college ball till he got homesick! He loves to help and support our little cousins in being studs in baseball!! So saturday after the track meet we went and watched baseball! :)

We watched our little cousins Jace and Hayden! :) They are super studs at baseball!!

Even though it was a bit windy we still had a great day enjoying our favorite sports and our great family! :)

immmm back :)

PHEW!!

After all the chaos of the wedding has passed and im finally settled into my new life, im back to the blog! (not that i was ever a real big blogger). Now that I'm married i have a few more events to write about, even though most of the evens i had written about in the past were about ryan (opps)!! and i know that the only person in the cyberworld who missed me was stacey ;)

We got our wedding pictures back and we are in the process of going through the 3,000 that my WONDERFUL cousin took for us!!See her lovely work here. It has been such a blast but i cant wait till i get them final edited ones back so that i can share them with everyone! :) so they will be coming SOON!!!! maybe i will even post some engagement pictures in case someday i loose that disk!

but in the mean time i guess i will just start up blogging like nothings new, ha ha :)
a couple of weeks ago, neither of us were working so we decided we had had enough of sitting on the couch watching sportscenter so we decided that we would go shooting with some of ryans friends! note: i am terrified of guns and the only guns i have ever shot have been the air gun you have to shoot to pass hunters ed, and small hand guns(they dont kick :) ) so it makes me really nervous when i get around shotguns and other guns which i wont even attempt to be educated in. I gave myself the title of "clay pigeon thrower" which is a lot harder to do than it appears. Ryan had to give me a serious lesson and i had to throw about 5 practice throws before i could throw when they shot.

We had been shooting for roughly an hour when i was getting a little too confident in my abilities. Ryan was "shooting from the hip" so i decided to take a step backward to avoid accidentally being shot by my also overconfident husband!! When he said "pull" which i learned is code for fling the clay pigeon, i did the same thing id been doing for an hour. It did not however yield the same results. Maybe that particular clay was larger than the others, i dont know, but it did not come out when my arm was pointed to the sky. It stayed in as i followed through, and hit ryan at 100 mph straight in the neck.

I learned something very important about my sweet ryan that day. Insted of freaking out, making a big deal about it, and getting really upset, he did the opposite. He sat in silence for about a minute while i was frantically saying, " im so sorry, im so sorry...". Then he calmly turned to me and said babe its ok, do you want to try again? Boy am i a lucky girl!!! I sure do have fun with hiM
