ode to skiing.

i guess i would consider myself a child of winter. how this happened i dont know. but i enjoy winter more than any other time of year.

i've snowboarded ever since i was a little girl, never skiied.

and to be honest it was starting to get a little boring.

its been forever since ive posted! so maybe i should give an update!

well im engaged :) happy day here! its been almost a year and i didnt think that ryan would ever decided he wanted to get married ha ha we have talked about it for awhile and he almost decided to do it in new york but changed his mind so i was really suprised when it happened! :)

but really really excited!!!

the ring...its perfect for me! my grandma has one that ive been in love with since i can remember and ive always told ryan i love it! so i was thrilled when it is exactly the same! :) :)

so the story...on Friday (December 4th) we were watching a movie with ry's parents, Angels and Demons, which is forever long so by the time we got done it was pretty late and i still had to run a pair of skis to friends in rexburg and get up early the next morning to go skiing so i just told him that i was going to go home...

ry," no lets just go for a drive okay."

me, " okay..."

so we proceed to go for a drive up to the hill above idaho falls where we go sometimes if we just feel like going somewhere but dont wanna do anything. so we get up to our spot and were just sitting there talking about how much it sucks that there is no snow and school and stuff when all of the sudden ry was like," i got you some new gloves for skiing do you want to try them on?" i was thinking what is wrong with my old ones, apparently he hates them :( but anyways he went and got them out of the trunk and came to my door and handed me the left hand and im thinking to myself "oh my gosh oh my gosh OH MY GOSH." Hello ring in finger! :)

and if you know me you know i laugh when im nervous! so i just start giggling and couldnt stop. ry is trying to be all cute and im totally ruining the moment.... stupid me....after he gets done with "the speech" im still giggling so he says " are you going to say yes anytime soon." i felt so bad! and of course said yes and the rest is history!!!!!

hopefully we will get married on february 20th :)

yay!

and the cake.... my sisters decided that they were going to make us a "proposal" cake!

im sad i didnt have my camera, my digital got stepped on last year at targhee and my nikon is difficult to carry around sometimes! but it was very fun! my parents had a romantic date so we babysat my sisters!

announcements

the first announcment is...my mother decided that she was gonna buy one of these. the ab circle pro, hopefully you've all seen the infomercial about it, because in just three minutes a day im gonna look like this fly chick! washboard abs you might say :) i cant wait!

the second announcement is that...im going back to school. ha so my one year break from doing absolutely nothing will be coming to a close shortly! my little cousin jacer is pretty much responisble for the motivation, i've thought alot lately about how awesome it would be to work at primary childrens and help so many people, im actually excited, i like school and its just time to get back!! yay for me! :)

business trip?

ugh. 

so i recently (in february) acquired a job for the madison county prosecutor. 

legal secretary to be exact.

sounds official. its really not. just a job

we were asked to go to a training conference this whole week for the job.

in all actuality its not that bad. we get our own hotel suite paid for.

we get our gas and food paid for and a lot of extra shopping :) 

a few good things have come out of the first day.

1- our rental car was a hyundai sonota, not a bad car but most def not the same as my suv.

it felt like the winds were hurricane speed in that thing we couldnt even stay on the road, drunk drivers to passerby's or people we were passing by , also hydroplane central. i though we were going to die!! 

2-i love forever 21 with my whole life, yes its the best store ever. i spent 100 dollars and walked out with like 17 shirts and cardigans and sweaters! it was awesome!!! :) i cant wait to go to urban outfitters tomorrow! that is my other favorite store!! 

3- buffalo wild wings :) i first experienced this goodness in vegas with one of my best friends bridgette! but it was so delicious tonight i decided to be brave and get the 4th spiciest! and they were really yummy! my mouth was on fire and my lips were chapped so it wasnt very pleasant but it was good in my tummy!! 

but thats all that happened today it was full of events ha!!

best game ever!!

this post is in semi-response to my pity party post a couple of days ago!

ryan and i (ok ryan) has a ps3(i just like to pretend its half mine). and at first i wasnt very crazy about him having one of these cuz i really hate when people spend all their spare time playing stupid video games in their basements. dont get me wrong i love some video games, mostly dance dance revolution and guitar hero :) but im pretty sure i am now converted to a gamer life!! ha ha! skate2 officially converted me to play station3!!

but anyways back to the story....two weeks ago ryan had been talking about a game called little big planet(as seen above).the game is basically sounds stupid but its fun! everyone is their own little sock puppet guy and you can customize it however you want, i swear there are a million different possibilities, anything you can think of, and there are a million different challenges/levels. the point is to gather these little bubbles and complete the levels, its hard to describe you just have to experience it! you can google it and play a demo online!!

so i was at walmart one night getting stuff to make bracelets , and i couldnt help but get the game, it sounded fun! :) we have basically played it for two weeks straight, in ryans basement, and i feel like a little bit of a hipocrit but oh well. its been a semi rough week for me, i'll admit ive been a huge baby, but last night made it all better!! we went to our friend pedro's (yes i said pedro and thats his real name) house and we seriously laughed our heads off for 4 hours playing this game and i honestly feel a billion times better than i have forever!!

this is targhee as of about an hour ago!! oh how i just love the first snowfall!! only made my whole day!! :) sorry everyone who hates snow! i just cant wait to use my new skis!!!!!

lately i have been grouchy.and i have done some seriously deep thinking to figure out why.and the reason i have come up with is:

i dont like it when i dont get my way.

as spoiled and bratty as this sounds i think it kinda is because i really am a lucky girl.

i live at home for free

i get my phone paid for for free

i get my health and car insurance for free

i have a sweet family

a great boyfriend

and i have quite a decent job.

the list really is endless

so i decided to buy myself stuff to feel better

i got new chacos and new skis and well dont feel any better! just way to excited for winter.

what the heck is my problem, yeah i ask myself the same question all the time.

i have a problem with getting comfortable with the same old routine and not moving on.

truth be told i do not want to grow up one bit. i've gotten comfortable with my little break from college and am not very motivated to go back even though it is inevidable.i've gotten comfortable living back at home for free, and not having to do much but work and play.i've gotten comfortable just dating and this is where im having the issues of not getting my way. a part of me wants to get married. yeah i know im 19 but i kinda feel a little bit more mature than my age. but ryan is the best and i really actually like him and i dont get sick of him and i dont get annoyed which is strange for me cuz usually im loose interest in the male specimen after about a week.this is not the case with him, talking to people who know me, there response 8 months aub wow thats a record for sure!!

i really am happy i think i just lack motivation! i dont really want to go back to school and move out and pay money unless im getting married, but im starting to think that is not an option right now. i guess cuz ive heard the phrase " im just not ready" about a thousand times in the last week. that is me not getting my way.

is something wrong with me? or am i just a baby ha ha

there is a reason for the cuteness though and it is the following: about a month ago i was visiting my boydudes brother and his family with him! they have a daughter and she is three. she accidentally scratched my eye which was no big deal a little trip to the eye doctor, a pirate patch and some goopy meds no big deal. then....allergy season strikes...when they harvest the grain around my house im in trouble for sure!! i guess my allergies have somehow dried out my eyes...who woulda thunk and where i had previously torn my cornea it somehow tore again only a little bit bigger! and ta da this is what i look like! come to find out i might have to get a laser treatment once its all healed to keep this from happening again or it could be a lifelong problem and we sure as heck dont want that! and just a side note it is just as miserable if not more miserable than it looks in the picture! it hurts pretty dang bad!

this is another funny face...ryan...

he plays on a manly man softball league and its very fun to go watch!! his team has developed a tradition called third out princess. when they are up to bat the player on the team who gets the third out has to wear the princess hat! it somehow mostly lands on ryan. his problem is he either hits a home run or a fly so about one third of the time he is this little cutie pie!!

were a dang cute couple i think!

this weekend was kind of a somber one for our grover family.

my little sweet cousin jace was diagnosed with leukemia.

i honestly with all my heart believe in the power of prayer, and their family could use all the strength and support that everyone has to give. my cousin amy has made such a great blog for friends and family to follow.http://ironmanjace.blogspot.com

my sisters and i decided that we were going to try and help our big family stay strong through all that is happening so we thought that since we are constantly making something that we would start a project that we could give to everyone..even people that arent in our family..to help us become more unified to help our jacer!

after some phone calls we decided that we would do red and white for the madison bobcats because jace as well as our whole family are big bobcat fans. and blue and white because blue is jaces favorite color. the one in the middle is the one we made special for jace it says " im a fighter" cuz he is!! and he will be throught the whole process. and the ones we are making for everyone else say "ironman jace". we just started this project yesterday so it will take us a few days to get a bunch made but we are hoping by this weekend to have them to everyone in our family! if you would like one to support our little jace, amy matt and hayden as well as the whole grover family just let me know! we would love to make one for anyone because the more the merrier!

people get TICKED at me all the time for wishing it would snow! its not that i dont like summer i just hate it when its a million degrees! its awful! who likes their clothes to stick to their bodies and to sweat sweat sweat its gross! fall and winter should be the only two seasons in my book! people who hate snow and cold shouldnt live in idaho!

6) blue bird ski days!!

honestly there is nothing better than going on a warm sunny day!! it gives you sick goggle tan lines which are on my top favorite things everr!! ok maybe tons of powder is also much appreciated!!

7) beanie season!

i love hats and i love getting tons of new beanies for the winter! :) i also love beanies cuz then i dont have to straighten my hair!!more than a fat kid loves cake!

oh hey friends... this last week my sister started her junior year of high school and she decided to take a photography class...since that happend to be one of my favorite classes ive offered to help her.. i didnt really think that would mean that i would have to be somewhat of a model. her first assignment was rule of thirds. ryan just happend to be with me and this is what we came up with ha :) of course there were tons more photos but i just thought these were funny! because its so typical us!

this is our picture i dedicated to all our friends who are getting married. this friday alone i have to go to 4 receptions. tis the season i guess. not that there is anything wrong with that at all im just not sure im down with the 2-3 month deal. seems like something that happens in the bubble of rexburg idaho alot. i think me and ry are coming up on the 7ish month mark and im slowly starting to feel like i really know him and feeling like i'd be comfortable with comittment. i just really am over random people asking when im getting married...it started after the first time i brought him to church with me...typical...geez that was a little crazy for a second!!dont get me wrong im not hatin on anyone just sharing!!

jumping is fun! i like it! especially ninja jumping!

this is me about 10% of the time. i get carried around like a sack of potatoes. not complaining though cuz its way better than walking myself!! :)

a lovely adventure

so my friend/sister rachael and i decided to make a cake.

we both had the genious idea of trying to make fondent!

we also learned that fondent needs to be used on a "dense" cake and the only kind we had was bettty crocker moist chocolate. so we decided that it would be better to bake it for extra time to make it "dense" ha ha not such a good idea. this was my part and i totally messed it up!

good thing our(rachels ;)) perfect fondent covered up and saved the day!!
