ry and i had a really fun weeked this weekend...

one of his very favorite uncles came all the way from texas for their annual ski trip in utah. and we were able to go down to ski with them.

friday we skiied at deer valley..which was a great experience.

A day pass there is roughly 96$ but we got lucky and scored a free pass from my friends shaun and rhet who work there. im sure lots of people might have heard of deer valley. its a ritzy little ski only hill and is one of the nicer resorts that i know of, so naturally we were a little nervous about how this day was going to go with all the rich and snooty people.

** our first experience with the upper class usa started early in the parking lot...we were minding our own business just putting our ski boots on when a lovely man decided our of all the cars to walk beside he HAD to walk by ours. ryans door was open because he was putting his boots on while he was sitting half in the car. the man proceeded to stand there as if he was waiting for ryan to just close his door so he could continue on his way. (note: there is literally 1000 other ways to walk where he is trying to go) ryan gets out of the car and closes his door so the man could go by and says sorry man....and he says oh yeah surrreeee you are...

**the second experience was with the lovely people who work there. we were on our first run of the day with the whole group, going a little slow down a beginners run, and ryan, i, his uncle and cousin were waiting for everyone else to catch up to us. when out of the blue a ski instructor/teacher comes briskly skiing over to me. she says " oh my gosh i love your pants i just want to push you over into those trees and take them off you...?" ha ha i was just kinda speechless...a little awkward even. it became the joke of the day for sure..

ryan had 0 wrecks that day which was a personal record, not that there was anything to wreck on. and i had one...it wasnt really a wreck just an incident where i slipped out from under myself and bent my pole completely in half.

it was all in all an interesting day, we opted out of the 18 $ cheeseburgers and the 15 $ soup for a turkey sandwich for maverick. we are that cool

saturday we got to ski at the canyons which is always a fun place but nothing really happend to exciting thereit was just a regular happy ski day :)

saturday night we met up with the family...ry's uncle and parents and brothers and sisters..and went to Buca De Beppos, which was an experience for sure. anyone who hasnt been there should definatly go there at least once in there lifetime :) it is a huge italian family resturant that has two portion sizes, one that feeds2-3 people and one that feeds 5-6. its like thanksgiving. :) and i dont think i've laughed as hard as i did that night in forever. ryans brother has two kids who were anything but quiet and the people in the booth behind us were anything but pleased with the ammounts of noise that was streaming from our table. and the quote of the night comes from a three year old.... our cute niece was getting semi-scolded for being to loud and ryan was kinda staring at her/in a daze due to the hard days of skiing...and she noticed the stare and immediately said, " what the heck are YOU staring at". im still laughing about it as i write it down. kids say the funniest things :)

and last but not least on sunday we went tubing in park city at the gorgoza tubing park... i thought it would be totally lame because it was full of smaller kids but we actually ended up having a blast, they had some pretty big hills and some nice jumps!

all in all a great adventure!
